Our first annual Mountains-to-Sea Trail month is now over. We celebrated October with 60 events statewide – backpacks, dayhikes, paddles, slideshow presentations and more.

We have many people to thank for the festivities:

• All the folks who organized events to help thousands of people get out and enjoy the trail

• Governor Mike Easley for proclaiming October as Mountains-to-Sea Trail month
• All the newspapers, magazines and radio stations that features and articles about the trail
• And the hundreds of people who bought raffle tickets. The money raised will be a big help in our efforts to build and maintain the trail. Congratulations to the 11 winners. We hope they are enjoying their prizes!
